Valencian Community Leads Spain Again with 152 Blue Flag Beaches in 2026
Top of the Rankings — Again
The Valencian Community has once again led Spain's Blue Flag beach rankings for 2026, with 152 awards distributed across 48 municipalities — nine more than the previous year. The announcement was made by ADEAC (the Association for Environmental Education and Consumer Protection) on Tuesday, May 5.
The Valencian Community comfortably leads the national table ahead of Andalucía (143), Galicia (118) and Catalonia (101). Spain's national total of 677 Blue Flag beaches is the highest since the programme was launched in 1987.
Breakdown by Province
- Alicante: 76 beaches across 25 municipalities
- Valencia: 51 beaches across 17 municipalities
- Castellón: 25 beaches across 14 municipalities
Six Beaches with an Unbroken Record Since 1987
Six beaches in the Valencian Community have held the Blue Flag designation every single year since the programme began — a distinction shared by only one other beach in all of Spain:
- El Carregador — Alcalá de Xivert
- Sant Joan — Alicante
- La Fossa — Calpe
- Sant Antoni — Cullera
- Carrer la Mar — El Campello
- Nord — Gandía
Two marinas also share this unbroken record — Altea Yacht Club and Calpe Royal Yacht Club — making them unique globally.
New Blue Flag Beaches for 2026
Several beaches earned their Blue Flag for the first time this year, including Puerto Blanco and Racò in Calpe, Cala Lanuza in El Campello, El Brosquil and El Mareny de Sant Llorenç in Cullera, and Pla de la Torre in Almassora.
