Andalucía and Costa Blanca Set for 30°C as 'Abnormally Warm' Air Mass Hits Spain
From Polar Air to Summer Heat
The polar air mass that brought chilly conditions and snow to parts of Spain is retreating — replaced by a high-pressure front that will push temperatures to "summer-like" highs above 30°C.
The mercury will climb gradually from Tuesday, reaching a peak over the weekend with maximums more typical of June, according to AEMET.
Where and When?
- Andalucía and Costa Blanca: 30°C+ from Friday, potentially hitting 34°C in southern areas
- Madrid: Rising from 25°C Thursday to 30°C+ by Sunday
- The warm air mass will linger over the peninsula all week
But the Mud Rain May Return
The warm spell may not end Spain's recent bout of "blood rain." A Saharan calima haze is set to make landfall in the Canary Islands this weekend, and scattered showers could mix with the dust to create more muddy deposits on cars and balconies.
Weekend Beach Weather
For expats and holidaymakers in Andalucía and the Costa Blanca, the weekend looks perfect for hitting the beach. The weather is expected to remain dry across most of the country, with rainfall confined to the northern coastline and some thunderstorms near mountainous areas.
