All the New Flight Routes To and From Spain This Spring 2026
New Routes Despite the Turbulence
Spring 2026 has brought some unwelcome complications for air travellers. Stopovers through major Gulf transfer hubs — Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi — are currently severely limited as a result of the Middle East conflict, making travel to Asia and Oceania more complicated and expensive. Several European airlines have announced hundreds of flight cancellations, partly due to the geopolitical situation and partly because of the sharp spike in jet fuel prices that has followed the disruption to oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz.
But air travel has by no means ground to a halt. Spain remains one of the most desirable destinations in Europe for spring and summer 2026 — and a significant number of new routes are launching this season across the country's airports. Here is the full list of what is new.

What This Means for Travellers
Despite the headwinds from rising jet fuel prices and the cancellation of some existing routes by airlines managing their costs, the launch of so many new connections this spring reflects continued confidence in Spain as a destination. For expats looking to fly home for Easter, for travellers planning spring or summer trips from the UK, Scandinavia, or North America, and for Spanish residents looking to explore new destinations, spring 2026 brings a range of new options to consider.
Bear in mind that some of these routes are seasonal — operating through to October or June — so if you are planning travel on a new route, check availability and book early, particularly for Easter week when demand across all Spanish airports will be high.
