Alicante Weather Forecast: Clear Skies and Strong Winds for Semana Santa (March 30 – April 2)

March 30, 2026 3 min read 0 views

Settled Spring Weather for Semana Santa

Alicante province is set for a largely dry and sunny start to Easter week, according to the State Meteorological Agency AEMET's forecast covering Monday March 30 through to Maundy Thursday April 2.

The overall picture is one of settled spring weather with sunshine dominating — good news for the Semana Santa processions and the many visitors arriving on the Costa Blanca over the holiday period. However, strong north-westerly winds, particularly on Wednesday and Thursday, will be the main feature to watch, and a slight dip in temperatures towards the end of the period means it will feel cooler than the calendar date suggests, especially after dark.

Day-by-Day Forecast

Monday March 30

Mostly clear skies throughout the day. Temperatures will rise during the afternoon, though minimum temperatures overnight will fall quite sharply — with a risk of light frost in some inland areas. A moderate north-westerly wind will develop across the province as the day progresses.

Min: 3°C / Max: 21°C

Tuesday March 31

Continuing with clear or mostly clear skies. Temperatures will keep rising — daytime highs reaching a pleasant 25°C. Winds from the north and north-west will strengthen, becoming moderate to strong at times.

Min: 7°C / Max: 25°C

Wednesday April 1

Conditions remain largely sunny, though some cloud may develop at times, particularly in inland areas of the northern half of the province. Temperatures hold steady. Winds will again be a key feature — blowing from the north and north-west with some very strong gusts possible, especially in exposed northern areas of the province.

Min: 6°C / Max: 25°C

Thursday April 2 (Maundy Thursday)

Cloud becomes more noticeable, with skies turning partly to mostly cloudy through the middle of the day. Daytime temperatures dip slightly, though overnight temperatures change little. Winds remain moderate from the north and north-west, with occasional very strong gusts still possible in the north.

Min: 6°C / Max: 24°C

Advice for Semana Santa

Overall, it is shaping up to be a bright and largely dry week for Easter along the Costa Blanca — but the winds will make things feel considerably fresher than a 24–25°C maximum might suggest, particularly in the evenings when temperatures drop quickly.

If you are heading out to watch the Semana Santa processions — which typically take place in the late evening and night — it is worth bringing a jacket or layer, especially on Wednesday and Thursday when the north-westerly wind is at its strongest.
