Bright Start But Thunderstorms Possible Later in the Week: Alicante Weather April 27–30
A Welcome Improvement After the Weekend Washout
After a cool and rainy weekend across the Alicante province, the week gets off to a much more pleasant start. Monday brings clear skies and mild temperatures, with the sun returning after the unsettled conditions that characterised the April 23–26 period.
However, the improvement is only partial — cloud and storm risk build again from midweek, with inland areas in particular facing heavy showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon.

Thursday, April 30 — Warm but Stormy Inland

The Pattern at a Glance
The week offers a tale of two halves. Monday and Tuesday are the pick of the days — mild, largely sunny and settled, ideal for outdoor activities. Wednesday and Thursday see temperatures climbing to a pleasant 26–27°C, but the warmth comes with a sting in the tail as an unstable airmass brings storm potential to inland areas in the afternoons.
Crucially, the coastal strip remains relatively protected throughout — those on the Costa Blanca should see far less of the unsettled weather than inland communities in the Alicante province.
Planning Ahead
If you have outdoor plans midweek, the coast is a safer bet than inland locations. For those further inland — in areas such as the Vega Baja interior, the comarca of Alcoy or towards the Murcia border — keep an eye on afternoon weather warnings from AEMET from Wednesday onward.
The approach of the May bank holiday weekend (April 30 – May 3) means many people will be planning trips and activities. Thursday's thunderstorm risk is largely an afternoon and inland phenomenon, so morning plans on the coast should be fine — but check conditions before heading out.
